Assignments Overview
Record YouTube Video [ 3 Marks ] : The first task every student comes across is the production of an introduction video about themselves, which should be around 3 minutes.
Group of 5: Online Conversation [ 10 Marks ] : In this task, 5 random students from any section can be grouped. Their main goal is to establish a useful conversation about a certain topic that's chosen by the professor.
Make Me Buy: Video : [ 10 Marks ] : This task targets the skill of persuasion in students. The student has to make a professional-level video that has the convincing power that attaches the viewer to the idea of the video.
Group Work on Proposal: Presentation [ 10 Marks ] : Unlike the group conversation before, this task mainly focuses on the formal attitude of selling an idea. In this course, the groups aren't randomly selected but the students have the responsibility of choosing their companions.
Weekly Writing [ 2 per week = 20 Marks ] : This task is spread out in 10 weeks, each week students have to write about a certain topic.
Group Work on Proposal: Writing[ 10 Marks ] : This task is the second part of the proposal video making. In this task,students have to write a formal report that includes Letter , an problem needed to be solved , solutions , and much more . This task is much more formal focused unlike other before.
Formal Report Writing [ 20 Marks ] : This is the last task a student has to complete. This can be made normally by writing a report ( around 1500 words ) or can be made in different innovative ways such as this website or even video production.
Peer Review Assessment [ 10 Marks ] : its premise is random students grade other students. Which is different from normal.
CV Writing Using Latex [ 10 Marks ] : This task teaches students how to make a professional CV. Unlike several platforms, this way emphasizes CV using coding.
Purpose
Video Tasks :
These tasks aim to help students with camera shyness. Whether it's recording individually or with a group. This practice helps build confidence and allows them to flourish.
Writing Tasks :
These tasks aim to help students with English literature. While some students have difficulty in the English language. these types of exercises aim to not only make students comfortable with the English language but train them to be professional at it.
Other Tasks :
These tasks vary from CV writing to grading fellow students. The goal of this category is to train students about the world outside, that doesn't relate to education. For example, effective CV writing is a must for any person who aims to be employed in the future. On the other hand grading task teaches students how to take responsibility and judge others while you are also under the same lens.My Experience
Video tasks:
While I discovered some had a difficult time, my encounter with the video tasks wasn't tough at all. I only took a single take when capturing my introduction video. I just went with the flow then it all shaped nicely. Moving on to the group conversation video, I luckily had some great people with whom I collaborated. In the group conversation, I took the initiative of making the interview in order, meaning I became the interviewer along with being one of the ones being interviewed. One funny situation I remember we faced on the day we were filming. Suddenly a random student, who became a friend eventually, was added to our group. We quickly caught him up and finished our work the same day.At the end of the day, everything came across better than expected and we got a +1 for harmony 😇 " all's well that ends well"
Even though it was just a +1 (After this report maybe more 😜), it meant a lot coming from something that we had fun made us productive as well.
Moving on , I came across the " Make Me Buy".
I had great plans with this Task. sadly like earlier, I delayed it while thinking about more ideas. One fine day I realized that I have 1 more day left. The time I had left wasn't enough to implement what I planned out, but still, I managed to do a basketball shot, which symbolizes luck. Like the great quote was once said" All's well that ends well ".

moving on to the last video task. I was well prepared for this one. The mistakes I did earlier were not going to be repeated. While working on the written proposal I had planned everything about the PowerPoint presentation to what will be said during the video. This time I completed the whole assignment perfectly and seamlessly .
